Rules for the Clean Air Commute Challenge
WINNERS will be notified via the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. Any winner notification returned as undeliverable will result in prize forfeiture and an alternate winner may be selected at CATS discretion.
Commuters who register at www.trackyourcommute.com and maintain logs of their commute behavior are eligible to earn prizes. Prizes are earned by accumulating the miles reduced and / or pollution reduced due to choosing to ride a CATS service, carpool, vanpool, walk, bike or participate in a company sponsored / approved telecommute program. Prize levels are cumulative and begin May 23, 2011 and end at midnight August 31, 2011.
Vehicle Miles Reduced:
First 1,000 commuters 1,000 or more - LYNX Travel Mug
Vehicle miles reduced is the number of round trip commute to work miles taken by an alternative mode as outlined in "Eligible Alternative Modes" below. It does not include miles driven to and from a residence to a park n ride lot alone. If your commute mode is Telecommute milag e can be calculated from your residence if your telecommute work location is your residence otherwise the starting location is your telecommute facility. The prize levels for Vehicle Miles Reduced are total miles during the Clean Air Commute Challenge.

Most Pollution Reduced (1) $50 gift card to Amazon.com
CATS service: bus, rail or STS - Only one winner from all CATS modes
Telecommute (company sponsored / approved)
(1) Commuter can only receive a prize in this category once. If a winner from a previous month is the top for any subsequent months, they cannot receive another prize in the same category and the next highest commuter earns the prize.
Prizes are non-transferable and no cash alternative is available. No prize transfer, assignment, or substitution by Winners permitted. If a prize (or part of a prize is unavailable, the Sponsor, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the original prize (or that part of the prize) with an alternative prize to the equal monetary value and/or specification, unless to do so would be prohibited by law. Winners are responsible for all applicable federal, state and local taxes with respect to prizes.
NONCOMPLIANCE OR RETURN OF PRIZE NOTIFICATION AS UNDELIVERABLE, WHETHER BY REGULAR MAIL OR BY EMAIL, MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION AND SELECTION OF AN ALTERNATE WINNER.
The Winner shall bear all risk of loss or damage to their prize after it has been delivered. Prizes must be accepted "as is" and the winner is solely responsible for all applicable taxes/ and or other costs. Prizes actually awarded may vary from any displayed or pictured prizes in any promotional/advertising materials. The Sponsor makes no representations or warranties of any kind concerning the appearance, safety or performance of any prize. Winners grant CATS the right to print, publish, and broadcast the winners name, address, voice statement, picture or other likeness, without additional compensation, for public relations, advertising and promotional purposes. A list of the winners will be available after September 30, 2011; you may obtain the name of the prize winners by mailing a self-addressed stamped envelope to: Charlotte Area Transit System Clean Air Challenge Winner's List, 600 East Fourth Street, Charlotte, NC 28202. Requests received after October 31, 2011 will not be honored.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY: All entrants, as a condition of entry, agree to release the City of Charlotte, CATS, WBTV, CBS Radio, WSOC 103.7, KISS 95.1, K104.7, WBAV 101.9 and any and all of their respective employees, and agents from all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to persons or property which may be sustained in connection with this Contest; the receipt, ownership or use of any prize awarded; preparing for, participating in or traveling to and/or from any prize-related activity. The Sponsor assumes no responsibility or liability for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, or delay in operation or transmission; communications line failure; theft or destruction of or unauthorized access to Contest entries or entry forms; or alteration of entries or entry forms. The Sponsor is not responsible for any problems with or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, human errors of any kind, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to entrants' or any other persons' computers related to or resulting from participation, uploading or downloading of any materials related to this Contest.
